Day One – tough day!

It’s been a tough day. I went into it dehydrated and with a max temp on the bike of 43 I just couldn’t rehydrate, leading to cramps and general poor performance.

It has been a great day though. The roads are, frankly, awful but the country is beautiful.

I made it to CP1 and despite my earlier plan to push on to be at least close to the end of the Parcours I decided to pull the pin for the day in Gabrovo, when I found a hotel with a room. I really need a shower! 303km with 3300m isn’t what I hoped for, but I’ll take it for now.

Hopefully with some solid sleep tomorrow will be better – we’ll see.

  1. 43 303 3300 … any more three stats you want to throw at us ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sounds to me like an amazing day to get that far in the conditions.

    All the best.
